who're some of the best brokers for autotrading ? some bokers like Opt xpress require a 3rd part connectivity. was looking for one vendor to backtest, get quotes and execute orders

Don't know if Interactive brokers would do this? tried searching, but wasn't clear.

I plan on 5 to 10 trades a day. So commision is a factor, so is execution.

with IB, if I am interested in autotrading how does a setup look? Let's sy I'd like to start with a simple MA crossover system.

After I open an account with IB, is it pretty straightforward to setup a system or do I need other 3rd party subscriptions etc.,

Even with advanced programming skills, it would take you no less than 6 months to build a robust ATS with an IBs API. Not to say that IB's API is somehow inferior to other alternatives, but it does take time to program around a lot of detail.
