Broke, Living In A Basement, With "Negative Savings": This Is What Millennials Spend Their Money On

Checked the Hornady Ballistics Calculator... a .44 Magnum carbine produces about 1900 FPE (Foot Pounds Energy)... vs 9mm handgun ~ 340 FPE with +P ammo. IOW... LOTTA THUMP in the .44!

Not only that, you can HIT something with a rifle... even a short one like a carbine... whereas, it's easy to miss with a hand gun.

I'd recommend either one. I love a .44 mag lever action as well. In fact, there are guys out here who will turn your .357 or .44 mag lever action into a tactical version. Blacked out, very light and small optic, super crisp, light trigger, an action as smooth as glass, and numerous other stuff you can add in. All I'd recommend is a trigger and action job on a stock rifle, but if you want a bad ass lever action, it absolutely can be done, and done well. Is strange. My real Dad died unexpectedly last year. He wasn't big into guns, but did have a 100 acre ranch/farm, and damn, he loved lever action rifles. I have the same affliction, lol. Go buy one when you can bro. Is a non depreciating item, does inch up in value, and to this day, is one of the favorites among shtf preppers. Lever action rifle, .12g pump, and a revolver in that same rifle caliber... Believe it or not, these are my top picks for living "outside the wire." (My home)

I'm just not comfortable relying on a pistol for defense and I own the most accurate production handgun in the world (S&W Model-41). I just suck at shooting handguns and would have to be right on top of someone to hit them.

I love my 870 but every moment I'm handling a shotgun I am painfully aware that I can't hit anything beyond 30-40 feet. Awesome firepower but I still feel naked carrying one.

That all changes with a rifle, pretty much any rifle. Give me my M1A, a few mags and some high ground and I'm large and in charge.

I love the Smith 41! Nice! And I have a damned hard time finding another battle rifle that's better than the M14. (M1A1, and variants) SEALs still use these, as does USMC Recon. There's a reason for that... Good stuff bro!
Oh, and put a limb saver on your 870, and load it with high brass 4 shot. GUARANTEE you'll be evil out to 100 meters. Go to your range, and take a look at what that does out to 100 meters. Is just plain wicked! 12g pump is my #1 go to weapon. Reason you're pulling at that short distance, is you're bracing for the shoulder stomping you're about to get. Is common, and becomes subconscious. Reducing that recoil will be your #1 thing to do. The limb saver really does take 50% of the stomp out of the 12g. #2 is taking it to a gunsmith for these: 1. Lighter, crisper trigger. 2. Evil slick action job. 3. No optics, just ghost ring sights. Or better, check out what tru glo has for both day and night. All you really need is a good front sight. The rear I can take or leave on a tactical shotgun. Once you do the above, you'll never again have that naked feeling. Especially when you see what all that shot does to the dirt piles, and see what the 2 and 3/4" 00 does to targets at 30-40 feet. Pure devastation! Again, the stomp is your issue. Cut that by half, and you'll be squeezing that trigger vs bracing for pain, and pulling it. The difference is night and day! Let us know bro.

^ Forgot. All you need is the limb saver for now. Maybe add the tru glo front sight as its pretty cheap. Don't spend any more $ until you hit the range with the limb saver, and fiber optic with tritium front sight. You really don't need the gun smithing unless you're eaten up with it like I am. Lol
