Broke, Living In A Basement, With "Negative Savings": This Is What Millennials Spend Their Money On

That's true. I only get to play a few hours a week - if that.
Just like alcohol, moderation is the key. And I bet there's not many Martial Artists playing games half the day and night. Much to be said for the discipline that comes from martial arts training.

I do that, too. Though with $1 a shot with 7.62, it's getting expensive.

I love large rifle calibers, but damn, they are expensive to shoot. And you seen how cheap 5.56 is right now? Absolutely an ideal time to buy ammo.

Yeah, but I already have 5000 rounds of 5.56! If I buy more, I have to upgrade storage.

5 cases of 5.56 should work well for you in a shtf scenario. Of course, you'll never carry more than a couple hundred rounds on foot, but the 5k rounds would sure be nice protecting your home. In fact, I guarantee the shtf, and you'll be surprised at the AR's your neighbors will have, lol. That ammo could get you, and your entire block out of one hell of a fire fight. Good job looking ahead! Carry on!

Now if the equivalent in 7.62 didn't cost $5000!

What in Florida law makes 5.56 or 7.62 a reasonable choice?

In Colorado, you can't shoot unless under immanent threat... meaning, "breaching your domicile"... and those high-powered weapons are too strong for that. (??)

You want a home defense weapon? How about a Henry lever action .357 Magnum carbine? (Henry has a .44 Magnum version as well.) LOTS of thump at a home defense range.. and ammo <$.50/round for JHP. (One expert reviewer says, "everybody should have one of these behind the kitchen door".)

And for less than 1/2 the cost of a Henry, one can have a Hi-Point carbine in 9mm, .40, and .45 cal.... not as potent as the magnums, of course, but nonetheless very effective and accurate within the round's range.

I prefer a Mossberg .12 gauge semi auto with tactical laser sight.

I could go along with that for "1st choice"... carbine as 2nd choice, semi-auto pistol next.

My concern... if you had to fire a 12 gauge indoors with "00" and didn't have ears, you might make yourself permanently deaf. Personally, I have ear muffs stationed with the guns. Would prefer to put them on if situation allows.
