They integrated relatively well before their numbers grew and ghetto's were formed.
Regardless of the negative effects of immigration considerable parts of the economy today still run on an influx of immigrants.
If you think Western europeaners have any desire to get up at 4 a clock in the morning to get up on rooftops in the cold think again.

The myth Western countries need a servile, immigrant-caste to perform menial jobs that would otherwise go unfilled, is really off-mark.
A huge swath of the middle class is comprised of hard-working, blue collar-types - be at factories, trades, menial services or semi-skilled labor. I know PLENTY of white Canadians happily earning 20 bucks+ an hour, doing roofing. Many people enjoy working with their hands. Construction and road-resurfacing guys earn 50K+ a year, with 5 months off !
Many Westerners *prefer* to get their hands-dirty, so long as they earn a fair wage ! Nothing wrong with it.
I agree about Africans (non-Muslim) integrating relatively well.
And that really encapsulates the entire (misplaced) rational behind open-door immigration:
Declining population (somewhat true).
Cheap labor.
Western countries don't need cheap labor. And juicing the birthrate, isn't necessary. When incomes are the focal point and not population growth, GDP can still make strong gains despite a slowly shrinking population. That said, Government programs to encourage native births is a much preferable route then chain-immigrating third-worlder's who are often a net fiscal drain on society.

Well, Europe can have what they want. My argument, and the sentiments of many North Americans, endless chain-immigration of third-worlders corrupts the moral and financial underpinnings of the host. There's an agenda here. Politicians are not dumb.
America in it's current form must be destroyed in order to reach the next stage of globalization.
