Agreed. My neighbor is an old retired colonel and I still call him Mr. K*****. He keeps trying to break me of that, but he's 20 years my elder, and I can't bring myself to call him by his first name.

Same thing, when they tell me to address them by their first name i feel awkward, i have to force it...... But respect like that is such a huge thing, that we underestimate.

People like those who support Michael Brown dont seem to realise that something as simple as respecting ones elders would have most likely prevented him from losing his life, so simple respect goes alot further than we think, even though its such a basic concept.

Used to be, you'd avoid government support at all costs. And if you had no other choice, it was like a kick in the gut to admit such personal failure to need it. And you sure as Hell didn't want your friends and neighbors to know.
