Regardng the above that is nothing more than unnecessary personal attacks which ruin so many threads, I previously posted the following:

Haven't really thought this through, but I'm sure we all agree that everyone has the right to voice his/her opinion here. The problem lies in the counter opinions of the "You don't know your ass from a hole in the ground" type that fuel the fire and lead to further personal attacks, resulting in numerous postings irrelevant to the subject of the thread, and thus ruining the thread. So, what if there were a way to discourage these personal attacks by restricting counter opinions to IMO/IMHO types. Could that be accomplished by setting up a 'Dislike' type vote function for any posting that contains a personal attack, and after x-number of Dislike votes covering x-number of postings, the offender's postings get reviewed by the moderators. And if the votes confirm that there truly were personal attacks, he's banned.
This, or some other type of strict deterrent to personal attacks would seem to go a long way in keeping the threads clean.

Some of the quotes are plain rude. Totally unnecessary.

Some of the quotes are people being blunt, perhaps to the point of rudeness, but even without context, I can see the difference between being blunt and being an arsehole; many comments are just people being blunt, no time for niceties, you're being an idiot, I'll just say that.

I'm on ET because I like it the way it is. There is no shortage of people here who are like the woman who marries someone because she loves the man he is, then proceeds to change him into the man she wants him to be, and then decides she doesn't like the man he's become and divorces him.

I don't mean to be rude, I'm just being forthright; if you want the company of people who sip tea with their little fingers pointed out, I strongly suggest you spend more time on BMT.

ET is real world. The real world has nice people and arseholes in it. I like this place. If I'm being stupid about something, it'll take 5 minutes max for someone to come along and tell me I'm being an idiot.

I understand that for many of you, that is very much an acquired taste. I was in a position where everybody thought it was in their best interests to be nice to me. Sure, the arseholes will come along. You know what sunshine, don't take it to heart, just tell them to fuck off, and if they don't get the message, get creative with your insults. Have fun. If you want an example, look no further than our resident arsehole, who shall remain nameless here, and his nemesis, who exults in ripping him a new arsehole to match his character. Great traders are not that way because they have great people skills. Indeed, more than a few are on the autism spectrum. No, not every dickhead here is a great trader on the spectrum, but some surely are.

I don't have any difficulty sorting out the people who may be rude, but add value, from the fucking idiots whose parents didn't teach them any manners.

May I politely suggest you try and do the same. Ignore the dross, you'll be happier for it.

Either they get it over on others or others are getting it over on them. We have people in the politics forum that are dedicated to making life miserable for people that disagree with them.
