Bright trading and any thoughts

Don Bright,

Do you have to take the 4 week class to join Bright ?

If not, what would the trader be missing (other than trading education).

Thanks

I keep hearing how bad Bright rates are ..

I seen comm rates from 0.001/share (high feq trading) to 0.01/share ....

Is the payout the bad thing ? 75%, 90%, 100% ??

Can someone give some real numbers ??

Where have you seen "0.001/share" offered by Bright?

The lowest they go is 0.004/share, and that is probably only for their traders doing more that 10million shares a month.

I should of clarify ... I meant 0.001 to 0.01 at other firms (not Bright)

Training is optional of course, but if you haven't been making a good 6 figures, I would suggest you consider checking out what our people are doing.

All shares for everyone above 1000 shares on any given order are .004. The first 1000 shares are a sliding scale down to .004 (and not 10 million, LOL.."I wish" ).....

Just remember to consider the whole package...we may not be the best for every possible situation, but better than most overall IMO.

Due diligence guys, regardless.

But having said that I have been around the block and know a lot of guys, and I will say this: I had a few guys tell me many many years ago that they had a great strategy that they know no one had figured out yet, and joined Bright from a smaller (now non-existent) firm, and within a few months it ws being taught in the Bright classes to other traders. They were very upset and left Bright because of it, but the damage was done. Having so many other guys compete with them their numbers dwindled and they were very upset they had gone there.

This is what they told me, and they are good guys which I have no reason to doubt, but I would like to hear Don's take on whether they look at what all traders are doing and if someone figures out something very good if they feel they are allowed to teach it in the Bright classes to other guys? The "free flow of information" that Midas mentions seems to confirm it is still the policy.

If that is the case I would agree with what I have seen said many times here, if I were a new trader needing to learn how to trade I would sign up in a heartbeat at Bright if they would show me what successful guys are doing. If I were a successful guy I would hide out at Echo where they do not teach classes and tell people what I am doing.

I think that's a legitimate concern. I have heard similar horror stories of a trader's edge soon becoming the contents of a prop firms new training material. While it may help generate more commissions for the firm, it really sucks for the experienced traders with creative trading ideas being stolen. The mental alarms should start signalling went you hear a firm talk about "sharing what's working" or "free flow of information" within the firm. Any successful trader knows that his/her edge incrementally deteriorates (or evaporates) as more traders use the same strategy. This is exactly why these concerns are so critical to be mindful of. There was a good thread on the topic a few years back with some good discussion:

what % would you guys say you net out before taxes per month trading with bright? 50%, 60%, 70% etc

so, thats gross profit - desk fees & commissions and anything else they charge for.

I trade with a firm here in canada and after everything is said and done I seem to walk away with 50% of my gross trading profits (b4 taxes)

thx

I am wondering how much money do you have to put up front if you are planning to remote trade with Bright trading.

Thanks.
