Please don't judge the whole of the UK based on London. That's like visiting the shit side of LA or Chicago and deciding you don't like Amercians. If you venture further up North from London hopefully you'll get a better welcome. Actually I'm surprised you were able to see any Brits in London, aside from a couple of bankers and paper shufflers.

The UK has no issue with our European neighbours but it's the Fourth Reich European Union Institution that seems to harbour all of the fruitcakes. A couple of posters on this thread would find it an appropriate retirement home too.

The thing is, I think you've missed the big picture here fella. I tried to steer you in the right direction earlier on in this thread because it's an easy mistake to make to get distracted by isolated incidents or a few manipulative idiots. The UK just wants to leave the EU members club, not Europe! I understand the EU wants to screw the UK now to make an example, and threaten others from leaving or holding future referendums, but if they make it too petty and personal then both sides long terms interests will be harmed.

It was Juncker who said, "it is not an amicable divorce". He did not need to say that. Farage is not blameless of course with that stupid poster and gloating, but Juncker is just awful. On his watch, the EU's second largest economy left. It didn't need to happen, there are many who voted like me who were ok with the EU before it took the direction it did over the last decade. We could have been swayed to vote to remain, but saw the reaction of Brussels and decided it's no longer in the UK's best long term interests to be part of it.

And what's the difference between Europe and Europe Member club? Have you lost it? Switzerland is not part of Europe other than purely in the geographic sense and the UK just decided it wants to become like Switzerland. Why do you think you're being held hostage? If you can't handle the uncertainty, I'm not sure trading is a suitable profession for you.

Brexit costs to UK business becoming increasingly apparent: Car manufacturers, for one, are at risk as over 50% of cars are exported to single market. The Society of Motor Manufacturers argues that the UK's membership of the EU "helped attract billions of pounds in investment in recent years." There are also grave concerns in the financial districts of London. "Passporting" banking and other financial services (whereby any business headquartered in London can apply for a passport from UK regulators to do business in the entire European Economic Area) will likely end when the UK formerly exits the EU. French President Hollande also said yesterday that London will no longer be able to clear euro-denominated trades (adding that this would "serve an example for those who seek the end of Europe." The EU will also shift the European Banking Authority from London to either Paris of Frankfurt.

Imho, Hollande's comment in the end is stupid but the fact remains that a lot of business will simply be forced to leave the UK. Obviously it cannot be that any European Banking Authority or euro denominated trades would be cleared in London. Good luck financial center London. And this is only the beginning: The pharmaceutical industry will follow, car industry, IT, research at universities will not qualify for any EU grants anymore,...

In the end the UK does damage to itself by being indecisive and waiting to exit. Businesses around the world and in Europe cannot afford to wait for many months without a solid decision. Any of the business projects for which the UK right now competes will for sure be put on ice or completely cancelled. Will European business suffer as well? Yes of course it will. That has been my point all along, waiting and doing nothing will hurt everyone. But most likely will the damage done to the UK be relatively higher than the damage done to Europe.
