We (the UK that is) don't have an immigration system in place for EU nationals. Any EU national can walk in here. This is what is known as free movement and is one of the pillars of the EU. This is also no doubt one of the major reasons as to why Brexit was voted for in the referendum (although not my prime reason). Australia and Canada have controlled immigration. They do not let any old euro riff raff in. (Take note schweiz in case you are thinking of moving!). Australia has a points system...even having a load of money will not necessarily qualify you.Not necessarily, you are taking about Poverty Immigration... In Canada, First Gen Immigrants tend to be on par or richer then 3rd or 4th Gen Canadians. Canada has an excellent Immigration System in place, very hard working and economically responsible. I think the UK maybe needs a better system in place, but good Immigration greatly benefits a country, Australia and Canada are examples
In fact most countries in the world have controlled immigration policies.
