Brett Favre Finally Going to Vikes?

I'm enjoying it. The guy loves the game. He plays it like he is 12 years old and out back on the schoolyard. You can't fake that, the guy is totally genuine. I can understand why he doesn't want to let it go. He got treated like crap by the Packers, and they suffered the consequences, going from the NFC title game to not making the playoffs. Their front office and head coach should be fired for the way they treated him and screwed up their chances.
The front office did what it needed. They did a crap ass job of handling the situation, and Favre didn't do much better. The last 3 - 4 years he had lost his touch when the weather went to hell. He played terrible and ended up costing them going to the big game his last year because of it. When it was cold you could see the joy of the game drain out of him. I'm not exggerating when I say that, he literally looked like he felt like crap. Can he still have his moments, of course, is he going to be the man come the end of the season, no, and you saw that last year with the Jets.
I don't know where you live, but the hype over the retire or not was overblown 3 years ago, and it just doesn't end. The press is to blame, but so is Favre for and his pro boxer act. He can't give it up and I believe unfortunatley it is at least 1 year past due. This crap is all about going after the Ted Thompson, and that is a stupid ass reason to risk a major life changing injury at his age in the NFL. If he wants to play truely for the love of the game fine, and In a way I wish it was for the Pack, but Rogers had a pretty good season and if he can improve things are looking up.

I don't get to see a lot of packers games or follow the local news there. I did watch the NFC title game in the snow and Brett played his heart out in that game. He made some mistakes, but what QB doesn't? I've read that there is a lot of bad blood between him and Thompson, basically stemming from Thompson not doing what Brett wanted to improve the team. The things Brett wanted, eg get Randy Moss, hang onto a couple of FA offensive linemen, didn't seem unreasonable.
Bottom line, I think Favre is good for the game, and I admire him for wanting to play at his age. If his arm is ok, he can still be very effective for the right team, and that team might just be the Minnesota Vikings.

Favre was playing great last year until he tore his biceps tendon. Maybe he should have let it be known that he was hurt but its not like the Jets even had a viable backup QB last year. They didn't. I bet if he got an MRI and was told he was done for the season, the Jets would have been done in like week 13, mentally. At least he tried to do something good even though he could hardly throw the last 5 games.
The thing with Favre is, he has NEVER had good mechanics but he made up for it with incredible arm strength. When he got hurt, he still tried to make the same throws that hes been making his whole career. Just had no zip.
IF he comes back AND his arm is healthy, he could be a real asset. If he isn't healthy, he has to just walk away for good.
