When there’s a police shooting, do you think the coverage by the media effects society, specially when they run it 24/7? At the start of every broadcast?

If the media did not cover police shootings...would police ever get in trouble for violating people's rights, beating them and shooting them?

If 4 gang bangers break into a house and kill 3 people and fuck the dog and there is no media coverage but they are caught by the justice system...they are going to jail. No media coverage needed, justice systems seems to respond immediately when they are caught and tried.

Media's job is to expose these things because police, bureaucrats and unions decided it was not a big deal and would rather protect bad cops then weed them out. They deserve the media attention they get because without video and media, there are several cops who were shown LYING about shooting someone in the back. If no video they would have gotten off because cops never lie....

Just one example of why this needs heavy media coverage but I agree there has been a lot of hyperbole:


On April 4, 2015, Walter Scott, an unarmed black man, was fatally shot in North Charleston, South Carolina, by Michael Slager, a white North Charleston police officer. Slager had stopped Scott for a non-functioning brake light.[1][2] Slager was charged with murder after a video surfaced showing him shooting Scott from behind while Scott was fleeing, which contradicted Slager's report of the incident.

We can say the media overracts but cmon...CNN and FOX make money from overreaction...

but when the govnerment is abusing citizen's rights and no one does anything about it for years.... I don't mind the media shedding light on police abuse.

POLICE HAD YEARS TO HANDLE THIS THE RIGHT WAY AND THEY FUCKED IT UP. Priviledge lost...time for higher ups to step in with video evidence.

The racism in some people is so strong and interwoven into their DNA that no manner of logic or reasoning can shake it. To these people, White cops are always justified, and minorities are always at fault.

The most sad part is that they don't want others to believe that they are racist.

I have greater respect for skin heads and Klansmen for this very reason. They are proudly racist.

The same justice system doesn’t prosecute bad cops? Before you respond with some particular case where you feel the cop got off, cops do and are convicted in court. Also there are criminals that get off on technicalities......

My point, there’s an inordinate amount of coverage given in society to police killings, which in contrast to drive-by shootings are minuscule in number. The gang problem will not be controlled until society deals with the problems that drive inner-city children into that lifestyle. When being in or associated to a gang carries such a negative stigma that it is spurned by todays youth.

If the resources, time and interest were put in that direction..... we’d begin to see results.
