Breaking promises to servicemen, army now discharging immigrant recruits.

I'll take the lawyer's word over you anecdotes on this one along w/the surge in rescission and this administration history w/immigrants. No one is denying background checks were done on immigrant recruits by the way.

Some of these immigrants will now carry discharge documents that unjustly and incorrectly label them a security risk. Moreover, their path to citizenship will be delayed, perhaps permanently.

Many immigrants were rejected for service in the U.S. military decades ago due to being security risks -- why don't you have the press go interview them. They are easy to find.

I wasn't around when Mccarthyism was accepted as "good practice."

Rejecting recruits in the U.S. military as security risks had nothing to do with McCarthyism.

Why don't you address the fact that the same background screening has been done in the U.S. military for decades and the percentage of immigrants rejected today has not been higher than at other times in the past.

Stop pushing your nonsensical agenda and deal with the facts.

Show me the numbers have not increased. You're the one making such statement, I'm going by what seasoned professionals have observed. You want to make the argument that we scrutinized immigrants from regions we had conflict with fine, the president clearly sees Latin America as a bigger threat than Russia, the military should then come out and say we are in conflict w/these regions and make it official once and for all.

No, President Trump Is Not Purging The Military Of Immigrants
https://taskandpurpose.com/trump-purging-military-immigrants-mavni/

The Department of Defense is strongly disputing a recent article by the Associated Press that suggests the United States Army has begun purging its ranks of non-U.S. citizens as the Trump administration ramps up efforts to crack down on illegal immigration.

I actually have more a problem with the U.S. deporting immigrants who have served honorably in the military and have clean criminal records after they are discharged. This is the issue that deserves more attention, not immigrants who fail their background security checks.

I mean, the military could admit wrong doing, but that's rarely the 1st impulse of wrong doers. We'll have to see how the story develops.

As for retired servicemen getting deported, I really haven't seen many stories of those w/clean records getting booted, though I've seen plenty w/misdemeanors and minor felonies....which I feel shouldn't be enough to kick someone out, let alone someone who served.

On reading the anecdotes of those familiar w/the process (from your link), I'll take the position of wait and see.

Good.

If adequate background for an immigrant cannot be established, the default should be no pathway to citizenship.

They can always go to Canada rather than back to their country, because - as we know- Canada takes everyone- except when they are actually asked to do that- then the requirements suddenly start piling up.

Watch the video.....the checks they have to go through now are so encompassing, they now take years and they're making bs excuses to fail them (such as having family abroad). Just noticed video was pulled...here it is again.

Right media outlets are pointing to a "2016 extreme vetting" change which would point towards the defacto "thanks Obama" defense.
