Stephen Bannon is leaving his post at Breitbart News. He lost support among conservative backers after he was denounced by President Trump.

Stephen K. Bannon is stepping down from his post as executive chairman of Breitbart News, the company will announce on Tuesday.

Mr. Bannon’s departure, which was forced by a onetime financial patron, Rebekah Mercer, comes as Mr. Bannon remained unable to quell the furor over remarks attributed to him in a new book in which he questions President Trump’s mental fitness and disparages his elder son, Donald Trump Jr.

Mr. Bannon and Breitbart will work together on a smooth transition, a statement from the company’s chief executive, Larry Solov, said.

In the statement, Mr. Bannon added that he was “proud of what the Breitbart team has accomplished in so short a period of time in building out a world-class news platform.”
 
I was wondering how he was going to get back into leadership at breitbart after he left.
However, his self destruct was stupid.
I wonder if the success was too much for him.
It looks like Ed Seykota struck again. "You get what you want out of the markets."

I hope he can redeem, recover and return to greater heights with more humility.
 
Bannon is the one really fighting for what conservatives claim they want but conservatives choose the con man fighting for the rich and big business over him.Sad that conservatives will throw Bannon out for telling the truth about Trump and his dumb ass kids.
 
He probably was exhausted of the low intellect, knuckle dragging and went all in..then they told him to shower, shave and mix in a clean shirt and he said FU.
 
I would phrase it differently but I think there has been too much support for trump's sellouts.

conservatives have been co opted. When Ryan and McConnell claim to be conservatives and no one corrects them... conservative has lost all its meaning.

Bannon was fighting for the 60 percent of the people who are not represented by the people they have to vote for. Trump was pretending to be that person. But he seems to have gone full establishhment and he caves on DACA he is has gone full rubio and jeb. Is trump governing any differently than jeb or kasich would have?

Trump is making a huge mistake if he thinks the base will stick with him just because Bannon flamed out for now.

Edit... now that I think about this... if Bannon ran I think he would take away so much of Trump's base, Trump would not get through the primaries.

On Tuesday at the White House, Trump held a bipartisan meeting of legislators to discuss making a deal on DACA. Trump has repeatedly stated that a deal must include building a wall along the U.S. southern border, ending chain migration and ending the visa lottery program. He also stated during a portion of the meeting the press was allowed to film that he would sign whatever DACA deal bill the congressional leaders in the room sent to him.

Trump called the potential DACA deal bill a “bill of love.”

During an April 2014 interview on the Breitbart News Sunday radio program, Trump slammed Bush for remarks that illegal immigration is an “act of love.” Trump called Bush’s remarks “pretty ridiculous” and “dangerous.”

At the 2014 inaugural Freedom Summit in New Hampshire Trump called Bush’s comments “out there.”

In August 2015 Trump hit Bush for his “act of love” comments again with an Instagram post:



The post shows a clip of Bush saying, “Yes, they broke the law, but it’s not a felony…it’s an act of love.” At the end of the video montage posted by Trump are the words, “Love? Forget love, it’s time to get tough!”

Bush’s comments were made in the context of a hypothetical situation of a parent bringing a child or family to the United States illegally. He stated that the act is not a felony, but rather an act of love.

he supports the passage of DACA and he is a one term president.
