You just keep digging that hole deeper, don't you. I have no vendetta, just a visceral reaction to hubris and stupidity. I explained that with the arete post in reasonably clear terms.
Mike Covel is an acolyte drone just like Market Surfer. The difference is, instead of Niederhoffer, Covel worships the trend followers: Henry / Dunn / Seykota et. al. Covel constantly bashes the use of fundamentals, and gives one sided presentations of market activity to support the trend following mindset, because he sells trading courses based on trend following. That is his business model.
I have deep respect for what the big trend followers have accomplished--they have made billions and kept the money--but I am no acolyte. Nor am I a member of the pure trend following school. And I don't worship anyone.
If some bullheaded nitwit came in here talking about how trend following was the only way to make money and all fundamentals are useless, I would respond in the same way I have to the Niederhoffer apologists.

If I were Mike Covel, would I be ready and willing to acknowledge his trend-following acolyte status and call out the true nature of his business model? Would I readily state my opinion in public that Mike Covel has deservedly been branded an asshole for his duplicitous business dealings?
Would I be ready and willing to point out the many flaws I see in the pure trend following methodology, even as I maintain my respect for what the big trend followers have done over the years?
