Breaking news: Niederhoffer still in business after market correction!

archie made a bet. i have not nor have i ever posted under the name rodney king. archie, as expected, is not honoring his side of the bet. ofcourse, that is entirely up to him, but is very poor form.

It would be considered bad form for me to openly describe surfer as an asshole, even though both he and I know that is exactly what he is.

my son sometimes uses naughty words to draw attention to himself.. but then again.. he has the excuse that he's 5 years old

It was a simple LOL with a grain of salt.

. If so, maybe, there aint' much left of it after Monday's run. I wonder.

don't worry, VN and his team have everything under control. please wait to see how the year ends prior to playing the funeral march.

Was he really down 28.5 % in May?

I saw he didnt report to Barclays last month as he usually does....I would imagine he changed his risk management after the thumping he took yrs ago....

Especially now that you have already cranked up your high-speed paypal machine, eh?

Surf, I noted the connection on page 17 of this thread even before archimedes did. The language and inanity are the same. One way or another, either directly or indirectly, I think it is a fair assumption that you are are behind RK.

Yes, that is one way to look at it. On the other hand, children are inclined to speak with remarkable candor. Was your 5-year-old addressing you at the time?

Nothing to worry about surf, no real vested interest here. It's all pure academic.

Don't get me wrong, I admire the guy, but pity that his ego seems to be bigger than him and it seems to get the better of him at the worst of the times.

Happy trading.

Is anyone getting spammed as a result of registering at the Barclay's site? Seems like targets that are probably worth a lot of money to high-end advertisers, managers, etc.

And how many people here have referred to me as 'archie,' except Jack Hershey (from whom you probably picked up the affectation), Rodney King, and now you?

The idea that my accusation is settled and proven wrong because you say "nuh-uh" is even more amusing, considering that you are on record, and busted, for illegal promotion via the use of aliases on this very site. If anyone had a system for covering their alias tracks, it would be an illegal alias business promoter, and the only ET poster I know of convicted of that crime is... you.

I look forward to many more posts from the likes of Fat-Tail Cat and Rodney King, demonstrating that they are actual market participants and not just temporary shills to serve this bizarro defend-Niederhoffer-at-all-costs purpose of yours. But I doubt they'll be forthcoming, other than as a bit of window dressing here and there.

I still think you need some kind of therapeutic help. Like Niederhoffer, your obsessive pathologies puzzle me greatly. I admit to a deep curiosity and, frankly, a sense of awe at some of the wildly oblivious shit you pull. I would love to peruse your case study. Seriously. Maybe Anthony Storr could write a new book about VN and include you in a chapter or two.

p.s. for those unfamiliar, this is some of the wildly oblivious shit I'm talkin' about: http://elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=761689&highlight=marketsurfer+banned#post761689

And for the record in Elite history, a quote from the original article "Briefly Speaking, by Victor Niederhoffer", which appeared on the 11-Jun-2006 on DailySpeculations.com

"Eventually this decline will pass. I'll go on record with a prediction -- supported by the statistics on the table -- of what happens to stocks the next few days after five declines in a row, and what happens to them when bonds close at a maximum and stocks at a minimum. The prediction: the rise will start Monday."

This was later changed to:

"Eventually this decline will pass. And statistics on the table -- of what happens to stocks the next few days after five declines in a row, and what happens to them when bonds close at a maximum and stocks at a minimum -- suggest a rise is coming on Monday."

Now, you know what the fuss is all about. A childish attempt to erase a foolish and simplistic interpretation of the theory of runs, suported with voodoo correlation by the speculator.

Enjoy.
