Former Republican National Committee official James Tobin was sentenced to 10 months in prison Wednesday for his role in an Election Day phone-jamming plot against New Hampshire Democrats.
Tobin, of Bangor, Maine, was found guilty in December on two felony telephone harassment charges. He also was fined $10,000, followed by two years probation. Prosecutors had asked for a two-year prison sentence.
Tobin, 45, was convicted of helping a top state GOP official find someone to jam Democratic get-out-the-vote lines on Election Day 2002. Republican John Sununu defeated then-Gov. Jeanne Shaheen for the U.S. Senate that day in what had been considered a cliffhanger.

Actually liberals are no longer hysterical, they are jubilant, it's not even important whether Karl Rove is indicted, he is damaged goods and so are Bush/Cheney, neocons, right-wingers, libertarians and republicans

And there you have it folks. Some loser runs a fake story about how some important GOP dork is going to jail, therefore everybody knows the entire party is corrupt beyond belief.
I'm not exactly sure how they can mount a serious challenge this November, and I guess that's exactly what the GOP is thinking.
The right wing trick of repeating a falsehood over and over again, claiming it to be fact, doesn't work on those with a frontal lobe.

this is not a right wing trick.
it's not a left wing trick
it simply is a TRICK used by both sides
what is one of the true signs of a close minded, myopic, cognitive dissonance avoiding partisan like zzz... is that they only see the failings of the "other side" while doing everything possible to ignore those on "their side"
here's a little hint. politicians are corruptable. this is true of dems, repubs, communists, socialists, libertarians, greens, etc. it's not monopolized by any party
here's another. politicians, parties, and advocacy groups in general - whether the dem party, the repub party, the gun control lobby, the gun rights lobby, the abortion rights lobby (NARAL for example), the prolife lobby, the teachers unions, the lawyers guilds, the oil companies, WHOMEVER ***all*** are prone to repeating falsehoods that benefit THEIR side
they also (tend to) look at evidence/studies/quotes/ whatever with FAR less scrutiny when it supports their metanarrative, than when it opposes it
what is so amazing about zzz... et al is that they fail to realize and understand the human condition in general, and politics in general
