I have seen power abused too many times so I fear them. It's hard to respect what you fear. No doubt, most cops are good guys, I would never say otherwise, but the few that are not are enough to have me not respect as a whole.

Ahhhh yes, let's drudge up news about a white on black crime from four years ago. Meanwhile whites are being robbed, beaten, raped, and killed by blacks hundreds of times a day across the country.

It is pertinent in that the Grand Jury decision came out this week for this case. This has been a week where black leaders have been claiming the white officers are never indicted when they shoot an unarmed black man. This case shows this statement is not true.

Why aren't Jesse and Al not making a big fuss about this South Carolina case?

same reason they don't show up for black on black crimes...it doesn't fatten their wallets.

Actually, "intent" plays a great deal into sentencing and crimes. That's why premeditated murder gets much more time than manslaughter.

Yes I know that, but intent should not have been the primary concern of the Grand Jury unless they were being instructed to determine a murder charge only. I cannot imagine that they thought murder was the only charge available to them to bring an indictment.
