But didn't take much, to stop it's spread that's why SARS didn't go very far.

Transmission
The primary route of transmission for SARS-CoV is contact of the mucous membranes with respiratory droplets or fomites. While diarrhea is common in people with SARS, the fecal–oral route does not appear to be a common mode of transmission.[8] The basic reproduction number of SARS-CoV, R0, ranges from 2 to 4 depending on different analyses. Control measures introduced in April 2003 reduced the R to 0.4.[8]
The response needed was very low, and they caught it early and tracked and traced the few that had it.

Look at it this way, had they done today (initial Covid-19 outbreak) similar like reaction to SARS via the preparedness policies and citizens with the will to be socially responsible if a Pandemic were to occur...
There would have not been lockdowns costing economies trillions of dollars and they would have save many more lives.
Seriously, we had a win win policy in place and threw it out the door at the start of the Covid-19 Pandemic...undermined by the leadership. The latter an important different between SARS and Covid-19 response.
Yet, the initial response to SARS was poor too but they quickly change that tune before it became worst.
