I'm no fan of Al Gore, but the entity to blame for ethanol is the same now as it has been for 40 years - the farm lobby. Look on the sunny side though, high food prices mean fewer dumb people having kids. Maybe in a few generations the population will be smart enough to elect politicians who believe in free markets.
