Brazil president blames white people for crisis

Well the conquistadors did mix with the natives and blacks in the first place in order to spread catholicism which caused people like Da Silva to exist in the first place, so ironically the statement might have some relavence.

Technically it is an Anglo-British system based on Anglo principles and many of the principal powerbrokers are of British ancestry (the clintons, bushes, paulson, etc) or at least are European (specifically Western).

The Anglo-saxon angel is relevant indeed. the French banks for instance are in far better shape then their european peers who tried to imitate the likes of Citi and RBS.
 
NYC and London are two of the most racially diverse cities on the face of the planet - people who aren't white have a far greater chance of becoming bankers there than in Sao Paulo. And the credit crunch definitely didn't start in Stockholm. So by that logic, if race was a factor, blue-eyed blondes were less responsible than the inhabitants of two "melting pot" cities.

I'm not sure what is more pathetic, his comments or Brown's gutless lack of response.

"Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on Thursday blamed the global economic crisis on “white people with blue eyes” and said it was wrong that black and indigenous people should pay for white people’s mistakes."

Sorry to put it this way, but many to most Brazilians are Caucasian or "white." Ignoring mixed peoples, there are only 4 major genetic races of people in the world: Caucasian, Oriental, Negroid and Australian Aborigine. So most Brazilians are pretty much like the white skinned blue eyed financial devils...

Perhaps countries having "“white people with blue eyes” should boycott purchases of all Brazilian products and services.

I wonder how his countrymen would feel about this comment...

No there aren't only four races, that is using antiquated and faulty logic. The caucasoid skull type existed before people even inhabited Europe. Most Middle Easterners and Indians had that skull type before europeans even existed. The reason why white people are considered white is due to the fact that they are all fair where as Middle easterners and Indians have varying complexions. Negroid is not a single race, genetically Africa has the most diverse continent of people. Also Brazil is not mostly white it is Pardo. Allegedy about 33-36% of Latin Americans are white however their gene pool is about 70% European so the real percentage is more like 25% white.
