Brass balls + Patience = Profits

Back "in the day" late 90's I rode 500 shares of Tellabs down from $68ish to mid $30ish (Ma Bell spinoff bid for a smaller rival but eventually was bought by Lucent which itself is no longer around) till it came back to entry point a few months later and got a couple more for the hell of it before bailing around $71ish.

I had the patience (was supposed to be a daytrade lol) and bull market behind me but I have never come close to ever letting that happen again.

Learned to measure my patience in waiting minutes or hours at most - otherwise cut and run. Also, for me, to stick with futures only.

Curious, do you remember where you got in on Tellabs?

Whom are you asking and what is Tellabs?

SunTrader from post #15 of this thread. His quote was included in my post. Eons ago, he rode a stock down aprox $30 to take a $3 gain. Made me wonder where he got in.

Actually I dug into my old files for curiosity sake and I bought TLAB 8/13/98 @ $72 7/16 and sold 1/8/99 for $75 3/8 - after it dropped and rose back up from the 30's.

Held that "daytrade" so long the purchase was with old broker from Y2K bubble history Datek but transferred and sold with another broker no longer around All-Tech.

Wish I had kept a screengrab. But what I really wish I had done was not hold over night. Gapped down next day and then went lower ... and lower ... and lower.
