Brain structure differs in liberals, conservatives: study

Quote from Lucrum:

What exactly is my belief in God?
Judging by your posts in relevant threads and your general disdain for evolution, I would conclude that you are a True Believer. Am I mistaken?

(it's a rhetorical question Gabby)

I don't have disdain for evolution. I'm not convinced we evolved from space dust that suddenly appeared from nothingness for no particular reason. I do believe that evolution does take place, up to a point.
I'm not convinced the God hating evolutionists know nearly as much about our unrecorded history as they would like to think. They are learning new things and making new discoveries all the time some of which debunk previous theories and beliefs heretofore considered "gospel", for lack of a better word.

As for God, I'll assume you mean the God of The Holy Bible. I grew up in a southern Baptist church, no doubt I still have a certain amount of bias because of it. But I think you can probably scratch me off the "True Believer" list. I don't claim to know for a fact that he exists, simply because I don't know. I've never seen him and I've never spoken with him. (though I admit to having tried when I was younger) I don't think a creator is any more far fetched than the big bang theory though. IF there is a God I expect I'll burn in hell when the time comes. But that's OK I'm sure I deserve it. IF the atheists are correct, and no heaven or hell exists, then so much the better. A kind of prepare for the worse and hope for the best sort of thing I suppose.

I don't despise science, not at all. But I'm realistic, objective and know just enough about science to know that science does not know everything about everything, never has. And as I mentioned earlier I don't believe science knows all the details of the beginning of time/universe. And if I'm correct it stands to reason science may also be at least partially wrong in what they think they do know.

From my point of view I'm merely being pragmatic.

A belief, be it in a creator or a scientific theory, doesn't create or change reality, only the believers perception of reality.
To explain the unknown by the known, there is science. To explain the unknown with the not known, there is religion.
