wow a lot has happened since my last post. My toilet broke and the guy from the building is trying to fix it. I started speaking to my mother again albeit curtly. And I have put these new ideas into some sort of buying order.

Ok.

AVGO is the chart I'm hottest on. So That's become tech stk 1 for me.

HOTT has a 3.7% yield! The selling has about dried up.

GLUU- is a sexy play for next week they have an analyst day Thursday so I'll be squirming in probably tuesday.

Those are my top 3 and probably the buy order.

NXPI's ceo is talking up a storm about shipments but he does NOT think they will be in the next I Phone which means Apple may be designing their own chip.- Staying away.

watching on Cabella for their earnings & starting to look into the new CEO at VALE as eventually I'll be back in that name.

.... And in stock surfing I came across a Chinese co with a huge amount of insider buying which I thought was interesting-- you wouldn't buy if you thought you might be delisted would you? - The stk is China cast Education CAST. Now tracking that.

There you have it a ton more great stuff for free. That's the way we roll! And roll we do. I'm off to the gym and then to collect food stuffs before making my dash to Ct. talk to you next week. ~ stoney
 
Folks let your stk watch list tell you what to buy. And just checking in here I like the action on NXPI best. The CEO was in print today and said he did NOT think the new I phone 4 would have their chip-- would of thunk a sell off on that? Wouldn't you? Well it's up 3%.

Thus the buy NXPI @ $28.80- $29.00 area. FULL position.

Have a nice weekend & if Intel buys NXPI over the weekend it will be really nice! ~si

PS: HOTT looks good too! Not sure I have the funds for that at the moment.
 
HAPPY TURN AROUND TUESDAY!

Well here we are on buy tuesday. The prediction here was for the heavy stks to start performing again, the commodity plays and as such we have to keep a careful eye on VALE which has been doing some nice chart firming up around the $30.00 level.

It's funny how the folks that matter bitch and moan about China running too hot and then when they get numbers which confirm a slow down they bitch and moan about that! When stocks get into a lose lose situation like China stocks it's obviously time to start buying. In talks this weekend with folks my sense was a lot of money managers are itching to get into China & Brazil-- they are waiting for the first sign of stability in rates or even a rate lowering by their central banks-- we don't have to wait for that!

The obvious problem here is China is the favored investment yet we have all these crooked companies... I'm wrestling with the whole concept now but, if the interest rate situation in China & Brazil is starting to bite, money flow will begin going there strongly for the second half of this year-- we don't want to be left out of that. Perhaps an Indian name or two might be a way to leg in.

Hi-

The heart is a bit hollow today as I have heard the news on Mark Haines finally. Yesterday I had half an ear on CNBC and I thought his wife was sick, the announcers had sent their well wishes out to her, never in a million years did I think Mark was gone. I have been there since day 1 with CNBC just like I was there from Day 1 with WFAN sports radio in NYC and Howard Stern. Stern was easy to let go-- the moment he ditched his wife, I gave up listening as he turned into just another middle aged looser. Alas as NY sports goes so goes the sports talk and many years ago I stopped listening there as well-- but you never stopped checking in on Squak Box in the morning and indeed over these twenty years I have heard Mark say good morning to me and everyone else nearly every day. Now he is gone in a flash. With no warning. At 65. It's a bitter pill for us all.

Folks I'm going to stop coming on here and giving all my ideas and knowledge of the markets ( and US dollars) direction for I STILL HAVE NO STARS! I don't know what is the matter with you all, the STAR system is here for a reason. As Byron pointed out to me this is how I get paid-- no stars no pay. If you think my work is only equal to the rest of the junk here on ET- then fine, afford me no stars. If you think it's kind of cool someone who knows what they are doing, someone who could easily charge for his services is giving you the goods for free. If you are a backer of free media; if you social network whatever the heck that is-- if you like honesty and straight shooting-- then you had better STAR me up quick.

a. the Nazdog's top gainer yesterday I think- 20%! 4.00- 4.80.

CAB- Due to report this week too I believe the 27th have to double check.

a. Retail has been bad but Guess just nailed it-- I have not bought this name yet. Some questions about management.

IMMR- Did anyone notice this stock is not budging on down days? That equals no natural sellers in my book.

a. Has not budged off $8.00

IPGP- One of the strongest tech stocks now for sure.

a. Continues to be-- good for $4 upside and over $70.00!

When I gave this weeks plays to you, it was in the face of a declining market. That has never stopped me before-- I will find winners in near any market.

As the week ends here I'm starting to look at some ideas. Folks often ask, How do you come up with your ideas? And the answer is quite complex. First you have a big fight with your wife over the Wake & Bake routine. Then you ' Stock Surf ' you scan the net for nothing in particular, you get a lead and then let the waves of research take you. Here is an early example of how it happens but PLEASE folks don't hold me to this stock pick yet-- wait till next week.

Glue Mobile is a half great company that plans to make money by offering games for free over mobile phones. In it's basic sense it is a way to make money off the net-- you know they blast you with the adds to make up for the free game. In Gluu's vision they get built in to a lot of phones and they become the " Zenga " of the mobile gaming world. I'm not sure exactly what Zenga is other than a soon to be IPO, but the effort by Gluu management to hitch themself to the IPO frenzy and say look at us! It's a bit clever and a bit embarrassing.

Others play in the game field of course and have mobile apps-one company that does is a serious player in the UK Barcrest Group-- they just happened to have been bought recently by SCIENTIFIC GAMES.

Separately these days, each morning I read in the Times about general desperate times in in the Euro zone and I think I bet these folks are buying a ton of scratch off tickets and hoping to get rich in the lottery-- Enter SCIENTIFIC GAMES.

Normally I have a " Rule of 3 " Rule in my investing, that is when the idea comes up three times in different ways in short order-- I go in. Well in looking at Insider Buys at various co's who shows up but - SCIENTIFIC GAMES.

So it's off to the charts. And what a nice set up it is!
- There is a clear double bottom at $8.50.

- A break out point of over $10.70

- A stk now at $9.70

- A stk with heavy insider buying- over 4 million shares worth! Insiders have been net buyers of 4,565,257 shares, which represents about 16.18% of the company's float of 28.22M shares.

- A stk with some fundamental love too-

..Italy scratch-off sales remain strong- up 4.9% year/over/year, six out of the last seven months have shown positive retail-sales growth, Over the last 30 days, analyst projected EPS has increased by 25% (from $0.24 to $0.30), while price changed by 5.22% over the last 30 days. WOA!

These guys missed earnings last time now with no press release analysts have RAISED EPS predictions 25%????????? This reeks of a tipped hand to analysts, that's a big EPS hike for a stk that missed last time around. Anyway, the part we care about is the muted response. 5%... those two worlds are going to meet and by coincidence at a point on the chart of interest.

A move over $10.70 would ignite a move to Roth's price target of $13.50. Unloved. Check. Unknown. Check. Has this whole gaming side already and now the titles to push with the purchase of Barcrest from IGT. Check Please! I'm inclined to buy next week. ~stoney
 
One of the more interesting stories for me this week is Berkshire getting back into the baby clothes business in a big way!

Shares of CARTERS CRI popped quite a bit on the news. A look at carter's balance sheet show a lot to like especially for a retail play. You know they charge bloody murder for kids clothes in relation to amount of fabric actually used...

The pop in the stk happened to thrust it over both the 50 and the 200 day averages at $29 level-- bit of a Bollinger break out wouldn't you say? Despite such strong numbers the stk has BADLY lagged the S&P gaining only 6% in a year. No wonder Berkshire who have a long history with this company having re taken them public a ways back and then sold off their position are now back and buying at that same $29 level! Their plan? Ask the board to maybe go private! Or raise more capital and expand.

Steve Cohen owns a large chunk of the name I believe.

Stk gapped to $32 so an early next week pick up around $31 would look to be a wise and safe investment. If nothing else the agitation will propell the stk to about $36 and if they do go private mid $40.00's. ~stoney

Scientific Games Corp. (NasdaqGS: SGMS - News) has agreed to acquire Barcrest Group Limited, a supplier of gaming content and machines in Europe, from International Game Technology (NYSE: IGT - News) for an estimated 33 million pound Sterling, payable in cash. An additional amount of up to 2 million pounds will be payable, subject to the satisfaction of certain conditions relating to third party contracts.

Following the acquisition, Barcrest will be integrated into Scientific Games' gaming divisions, namely Global Draw and Games Media, in the third quarter of 2011.

The huge collection of gaming titles in Barcrest’s library is expected to benefit Scientific Games by adding to its existing gaming content portfolio and its digital delivery network.

With the acquisition, Scientific Games expects to get a stronger foothold in the U.K’s server-based gaming platforms and also in other popular gaming venues, such as bingo halls and gaming centers.

Moreover, with Barcrest in its portfolio, Scientific Games will also have access to new video lottery clientele in Italy and the Czech Republic and will therefore strengthen its international presence.

The acquisition will provide Scientific Games a readily available customer base in the Internet, mobile and other digital delivery platforms, as Barcrest games are available in all these formats.
 
Folks two stocks triggered the SI buy signal yesterday and I'm going to give the names to you all for free against my better judgment. I don't know what's wrong with you folks, the TV and print news has been filled with negativity and bad advise. Do you need another straight laced fool to tell you to be more careful now! talk about the wrong advice -- any time you hear the same advice from numerous talking heads run for cover and go the other way-- " I'm not saying we are going to go down a lot just be a little more careful in your... OH SHUT THE F UP!

Where do they get these guys? When the market stumbles to the Bears call CNBC or vice versa?... and then as the market straightens itself out slowly we will get the opposite view and that will build into a tsunami of positiveness and then we will have to go the other way.... It's boring.

Ok lets get to work.

IMMR- Is on our Master List Above. We have been watching this stock hold $8 during a 4% down rotation move in the market. Now the stk is ready to move. BUYING IMMR @ the open... $8.20 or so.

ZAGG- New name but a company I have been ontop of since the beginning. The long and short of this name is as follows-- great idea co-- sold extensively at Best Buys and other places-- folks who buy fancy phones and IPads want fancy protective cases-- enter ZAGG. They have a clever name and maybe a too clever product line. Reading reviews of customers in the past kept me away from this name as a complicated spray on application and pressing out of bubbles seemed to much to ask of the every man. As time ticks buy however and MC Hammer of all people danced his way onto one of the last Ophra show's sporting a ZAGG protective case... I've come around on this name. If for no other reason-- they are in the sweet spot-- phones and tablets-- and offering protective accessories and other companies hitched to the home computer and lap tops might be seeing declines in sales.

In this suffering heat I must trudge to the Neurologist this morning. I must tell him about my ankle that won't heal all of this because of a rare disease apparently, maybe, I'm not taking the test. It can put one in a stinky mood for sure.

So can the market! In comes another batch of bad news-- the employment report was beyond stinky-- Don't worry we can relief rally Friday as Birth/Death adjustments are factored in and that should boost results. Even if they don't boost the number enough, economists will point out one less week in the survey and thus throw it out. The excuses-- Late Easter last time around... and the one less week this time-- the excuses RUN OUT AT THE NEXT REPORT... and so does the market at the end of June.

Until then it's up.

BUY EBS @ $ 25.00 area today for move to $33.50.

Such a nice large contract for Anthrax Vax was received by this Co last week and there is the very real possibility of follow on's from the Gov for 5 years out... the cash will start rolling in.... deliveries on time, this stk was up at these levels last Jan... In other words-room to run.

Watch SGMS- I love the way the Moving Averages have converged at this point... we have in our back pocket both the insider buy and the raised EPS estimates... yet let's not jump the gun here-- one bad day and we're flying beneath the MA's and eliciting TA selling. Watch.

MMR- Watch. oil is firm. Unfortunately this is mostly a gas co, still investors have been waiting a long time for some updates on some potentially huge finds, Davey Jones in particular; big oil co's have taken notice of this Co and Boon Pickens owns a lot... Watch for Volume Surge!

VALE-- Geeze it sure looks good but be forewarned - this stk stinks! Goldman put a $44 target on it and there's downside of only $3 or so-- in the long run you have to buy this stock. I'm going to put it in my son's custodial.

CAB- Geeze will they report already!-- I've lost $1.50 to the upside watching.

Off to the Dr then! And then to a bar! We'll call it lunch.

What's that they say 4 steps forward two steps back?

Some interesting new names have appeared in my work! We'll get there in a bit.
First I don't pay much attention to world events any more-- far too depressing, instead I like to gather up a weeks worth of news and digest it in one fell swoop in a hot bath. I like to do this during market hours. In fact some of my best stock thinking takes place in the bath and this has posed an obstruction to gaining regular employment. If I was making you good money would you have a problem if I had a European like claw tub in the office? Image is everything to these corporate types.

Here are some news stories that you may have missed-

FLASH: Chinese Prime Minister displays awesome hoop skills!
Dashing forwards for layups against what looked to be young Children and on a six-foot high hoop, the Chinese prime Minister played a rambunctious round of Basketball to the delight of onlooking people with cameras. This guy was loose! He looked like Kobie. At one point he grabbed a rebound and really attacked that rim... you could see the defender peel away with a look of I could go to jail if I block this... What of our President? and his hoop game. Could we get these two great leaders together for a little one on one to settle all differences? We'll call it the Human Rights Cup! HRC. But on a 10 foot basket!

FLASH: Bummer in Florida! Welfare recipients must take a drug test now to get their check! I think Gov Rick Scott might be on to something here, but why welfare only? Lets start on the unemployment lines and weed out that bunch. Then lets take a large swath through the government employees of Florida and test everyone of them. Then after that swimming pool owners.

FLASH: PERSONALIZATION TOO PERSONAL?
An NYT Sunday business piece described personalization in the cyber world and made some interesting big picture points that if by checking off what we like on the Net we are then zeroed in on and hit with points of view of only what we already like thus creating insular cliques without opposing views-- sort of the opposite of what the Internet was supposed to be about. That's all scary enough; the happy little thumbs up "did you like this" that appears on some sites has dubious market applications-- and by clicking it we are feeding a system we may actually politically oppose. What bothers me is I have only seen fit to click a thumbs up three times in my internet life and each time it was on this darn free porn site. I don't know why I did that-- they have so much crap and then this one good one-- i felt compelled to click thumbs up all over the place. Well, it's an uncomfortable feeling sitting here now knowing that the mysterious forces of Mother Net' has me pegged not a great intellectual but as as a guy who likes threesomes. This explains some of my emails.

FLASH: Hobbit to open nationwide on dates of interest!
Director Peter Jackson is thumbing his nose at the end of the world. Opening day, Dec 14 2012 is the reported birthday of Nostradamus. And part two of the Hobbit series is set to debut Dec 13,2013, which is also a Friday the 13th! You just know something bad is going to happen that day. And it won't be the flop of this film.

The rest of the news didn't really stick. Something about Greece. Something about Yeman. Some Goldman Sachs business dealings are not looking on the up and up as if that is a surprise. Something about a bad day on the market yesterday, I missed it. I was in a bar all afternoon lamenting my next move for my ankle which will be to an orthopedist slash foot Dr specialist and then I watched Mob Wives. I enter today's action blissfully unawares.

When I went into the bar the Dow was on it's way to 12,700 as predicted. Just 200 points away. And then something happened because when I came out of the bar the charts look a little weird-- we seem to have had a huge swing back down towards 12,300. And on such light volume. It's almost like a Twilight Zone. It's tree falling in the forest stuff-- when no one is there-- did it even happen?

MELI- This SA Ebayish powerhouse is a good stock. After making a secure double bottom in late March at $75 this name has held in there now at $88. what's interesting is any move over $90 should trigger quite a bit of technical buying-- 3 month break out it would be. Now in the 5th week of a base at these levels I don't think we see $75 again-- sorry Greece! I've got a hankering to buy this name.

VALE- Didn't go down hardly at all yesterday. The co is going to start mining for Rare Earths. Along with MELI that would be a real chip placed on Brazil.

VHC- Has been on a huge run. Unfortunately although I follow the name I missed it. This is a patent only company and a very interesting story. Sort of love the business plan as I own ACTG which took it on the chin in the last few days and is another patent story name. A stock that also deals with patents and patent risk management is a recent IPO that looks very good in the aftermarket-- RPXC.- $28.50 One could put together a Patent Based basket almost here.

VDSI- I was in this name and got shaken out when I went from a gain to a loss. hate that! I'd rather just lose right off the bat! Did notice an unusual amount of last second buying that took place yesterday in the name... if you check the last ten minutes you'll see it. Makes the name worth watching again.

CRI- has reached our magical Buy Target price! $30.50 so I think this may be a buy today as well.

Speaking of Carter, I saw Carter Worth on the telly today and although I make fun of him when he's wrong... when we agree I always listen. Carter made an interesting point about this little 4% pull in. What if it had gone the other way? What if the market had roared ahead an additional 4% and we were up whatever 13%-15% when all the negative slow down economy news hit?
A market that self regulates on time saves us from bigger badder retrenchments. ~stoney
