Boycott NIKE!

Good. What's your next ideological market play? I'm all ears. :D

LOL, Im done with that thought process, after this.

Admittedly, ideological plays do not work, because it takes time for it to even be fairly accounted for. That is the learning lesson with NKE, I have done it to myself before, but I didnt put 2 and 2 together until this one.

Key Findings
  1. Nike’s Favorability Drops by Double Digits: Before the announcement, Nike had a net +69 favorable impression among consumers, it has now declined 34 points to +35 favorable.
  2. No Boost Among Key Demos: Among younger generations, Nike users, African Americans, and other key demographics, Nike’s favorability declined rather than improved.
  3. Purchasing Consideration Also Down: Before the announcement, 49 percent of Americans said they were absolutely certain or very likely to buy Nike products. That figure is down to 39 percent now.
  4. The Effect on the NFL Seems Small, For Now: Forty percent of consumers said Nike’s campaign does not make them more or less likely to watch/attend NFL games — 21 percent said more likely and 26 percent said less likely (14 percent didn’t know).

why don't you put your money where your mouth and beliefs are and short Nike?

No, but I didn't burn my shoes or suggest boycotting Nike.
Personally, I don't believe in boycotts - by the left or the right.

I do believe that this marketing 'scheme' (because it is only a marketing scheme, they most likely don't give a shit about K) is going to backfire on Nike. We shall see, but a brand image is something that takes significant time and money to cultivate. As far as I see it, they fucked up YUGE.

New GOP campaign seems a little derivative.
