Boycott NIKE!

The is the personal choice of a consumer (myself in this case). This is very different than a business not providing a product for political reasons -- which is an unwise business decision.

A business should only discontinue a product for business reasons -- for example the sales become so low that it is not worth carrying the product --- because consumers are no longer buying it.

Hypothetical,

If a business was contributing money or goods to an organization that was doing harm to another group, would it be a good business decision to stop doing business with them? Or is the decision solely a dollars and cents, what's good for the stockholders?

What if the business in question goes against the statement of purpose/core values of the other?

Out of everyone here who is speculating, i actually put my money where my mouth is, im short 400 shares for now, at 80 bucks, with a stop at 82, and an initial target at 75, im risking 800 bucks to make 2k+.

The chart is overextended to begin with, i think this story will take hold and more people will be pissed off by the time the cable news channels get ahold of it tonight. Keep in mind this happened on a monday on a long weekend, tonight is the night i think that this thing really goes viral.

I will eat my words if im wrong,im wrong about 35% of the time, but i think NKE hits 75, before it hits 82, and im in from 80, thats the bet.
Im short 3k shares of NKE now, tell me i dont know what im doing 3 days from now when its at 75.
I wonder if Max's Nike shorts are feeling a bit tight right now, maybe squeezing him a little...

I was out the same day i entered as per my rules, if im not onside by the end of the day on a trade that big where its a news play i get out. I ended up losing about a thousand bucks overall on it. I was wrong i admit it, but Vanz and anyone else whose in the chatroom im in can confirm i said i was exiting near the end of the day on wednesday. The market in general and specifically the dow is too strong right now.

Okay. But you entered and reported the trade over a 2-day period yet made no reference to exiting early, before either your stop or target were hit, until just now when you were prompted. You'll forgive me if I was not aware of your unstated early exit rules.

No he got out.
Max is on the up and up with his trades. In this particular case he listened to (the older/wiser) me. I told him to gtfo. It took 2 times though. :D
