boxing and trading- a classic fight..

I'm dating myself but this is one of my favorite fights, has not a damn thing to do with trading though. The guy who compared trading to poker is a much better analogy than boxing, IMO.


This was a good era for heavy weights.

The pre-fight HBO special made me feel real creepy for some reason.
The part where Mayweather is buying the new Rolls and where he burns
money was disturbing.
 
I was in Vegas the week of the fight.
7:1 odds.
I don't care for gambling on sports.
I love craps, though.
Never played until last March when I was there for a class.
It is so much fun. the table, the players, the whole aura of craps, is
such an adrenaline rush for me, that I'm probably better off,
not being in Vegas so much.
 
I watched this with my dad when I was in high school. I'll never forget it.

Basilio beat Robinson even though Robinson had the reach and height advantage. There was a rematch and Robinson won, but couldn't knock Basilio out. In neither fight was there a loser, in my opinion..

Two of the most skilled fighters of all time. If Robinson is the greatest of all time, as some think, then where does Basilio fit in? Obviously also one of the most skilled fighters of all time. Never quite given his due. Both are in the boxing Hall of Fame of course.
