Bought 200 shares in Intel (INTC) today...

I usually don't buy back my options...I let them ride (expire in the money or out of the money). If they are at the money near close...I will look long and hard to see if I want to buy it back. "Do I really want to own (love) this company"??

I do look for value and industry leaders a lot...Just me. I am an investor. No sin in that. Here are some of the stocks I own...Most are industry leaders. No need to rip the list, they usually make money; ADM, WY, XOM, CAR, BP, EMB, MCD, WELL, IBM, TGT, PFE, GOOD, APPL, SYY, TDY, PYPL, YUM, CSCO, KO, QQQ.

I do own many other stocks and mutual funds (both open end and closed end). I have no need to post them here.

Back to Intel and Ohio...It will be a multi year commitment of hardware and software. Will there be bad quarters?? Yes...Will AMD and others take market share??...Probably. Will they continue to be one of the industry leaders?? I think so...I also bought Micron. Micron is paying a bundle to get out of China too. And yes, I do own ETFs that invest in different industries.

I will hold many of the above though a recession and sleep well at night...Just me.

They are moving out of China...Building a 20 billion dollar plant in Ohio (near Columbus). It will take years and a lot of $$ to establish there. Their earnings came out...Some parts good, some bad (margins). I think they will hold their dividend.

Bought the 200 shares for $47.99. I then did a covered call for the Jan 23 $55. I got $3.45 for the options. The company also has a 2.73% dividend. Something to hold onto for the VERY long term. They are also committing $100,000,000. to Ohio universities and community colleges for tech education.

No quick bucks here...In it for the long haul. Cabin
Bought the SOXL again at $35, now add my $40.3 purchase and I am investing now. Remember in Dec all the Semis taking out their AllTimeHi? AMD $170 almost, MU $98, AMBA $225, Qcom $195 and TXN’s incredible numbers. Semis will reverse, my Cyrus will come back :)

Why not just buy the SPY rather than own a fist full of stocks. SPY returned 28% in 2021, how did you do?

I have SPY...But it will be call away one of these days (still get the dividend). I'll wait the 30/31 days and then buy another 100 shares...Yes, the option did make a profit. I try and diversify into almost everything I own.

If I were to buy SPY today at say $430...Round numbers, I would maybe option the Jan 23 $470. for about $18. ($1,800.). I need (wish) to generate income...I pay no taxes. I'm 66 1/2...Protect assets, look for income streams, things like that.

I'll share a few stocks I feel comfortable holding in a recession (buy them...Help me make some money)...ADM, CVS, NWE, ENB, GOOD, KO, CAG, IBM. All have good/fair dividends and are industry leaders. Good ports in a storm...

Just what I thought. INTC down another 2.6%. More to come?

SOX sucks now. I bought 100 shares for the long haul in 5 of my accounts. Residual cash.

It is just not convincing to make a statement with 200 shares as commitment. That is what I meant.

Yes, 200,000 or 2MM shares will be convincing for making a long haul.

Also, I do not see a $20k commitment is a long haul. It is a tiny drop in the ocean.

Also, what a difference long haul or short haul makes as a trader? What exactly is a long haul?

I look forward to your blotter where you show a 80mm position.
