Bought 100 shares of Google today...

Only risk I see is AMZN tanking but should stay above 90 this week. I have to ask... why not simply short the 93 put? Save on a new bucks on NBBO.

I've shared before...I'm sitting on about a million cash and bonds. About a million invested in the markets (ETFs, closed end funds, stocks, foreign stocks). I'm retired (67) and do not want to do trades that are too complicated. Keep the cash flow going...Old dog, new tricks.

In Schwab Bank, this money was earning maybe .05%. If this money went into my estate, it would sit there for 6-12 months. It would be earning nothing!! Being real...As you get closer to death, you need to think more and more about estate planning. I've handled my brother's and mother's estate. My wife has handled her parent's estate. Strange claims can arise...Causing delays is closing the estates and paying proceeds.

I just present my trades (and covered calls)...Let people chew on them if they wish.

I like Alphabet quite a bit here too but it just doesn't seem quite at fire sale prices like META for a long term hold.
Still a really great price though.

Have to expect more painful quarters here but expecting to wait and buy the decade low tick is pretty unrealistic.

Amazon is really the one I am not interested in when it comes to big tech because I just don't think they have the notches on their belt to tighten as far as operating expense like Alphabet or META.

Next VIX spike over 30 though I will probably be starting an Alphabet position.

Fidelity offers CDs from 3 months up, last week I saw the highest one is paying 3.85% APY.

I am already into US treasuries quite a bit. I was wondering why I haven't done this over the years...Then I remembered (from years ago). "Breaking the buck"...It doesn't happen often, but it can happen.

I do own 200 shares of Schwab...I follow it regularly. One associate told me a few years ago (when rates were .01%) they were losing $200,000,000. a year on money market funds!! And that was keeping them at .01%.

I think one of the reasons for the large gains in Schwab the last few days, is the money they are making on their money markets, float and lending fees.

Fidelity offers CDs from 3 months up, last week I saw the highest one is paying 3.85% APY.

I have several CDs also in the 1-6 month timeframe but always keep some in SNSXX as that can be converted to cash at any time for equity purchases where CDs would charge a fee for early withdrawal.
