Boredom in Trading

Quote from thecalip:

Back to topic.

Watching the market never bore me, unless the market is very choppy.

For example, today the mini dow shoot up 100 points from 3pm to 3:30 and then down 100 point from 3:30 to close. That's excitement. Too bad I wasn't in it, too busy on the phone with the travel agency.

This sorts of things often happen.
Have you ever think of a solution? :)

More than half of the time, the market is choppy.

Is it the market you trade is very volatile most of the time, or are you still ok with just some small fluctuations, say 10-20pips?

Rarely find market boring. Watching the screen as well as both CNBC and Bloomberg. Learn something new almost daily. If volume is light, like day before holiday, I'll turn computer off and do something else. One of the advantages of working for yourself.
Started with $200K. Wife is supportive as long as I'm paying the bills. Left well-paying job to do this. Don't regret it.

... *sigh*...

There's always jacking off... don't be embarrassed.... if you're a remote trader... you prolly would have done it... every once in a while...

:D

IMO it's good to be bored trading....shows we are not excited and keeping the emotions suppressed. Trading SHOULD be boring.
