thanks optioncoach, will look into it

i just ordered: Marcel Link 'High Probability Trading'
Curis Faith 'Way of the Turtle...'
Michael W. Covel 'Trend Following:...'
Mark B. Fisher 'The Logical Trader'
George Angell 'How to triple tour money....'
Michael Harris 'Short Term trading with price
patterns'

not so sure about the tradingmarket books, from the summaries
it seems like a lot of fluff

anyone else has any suggestions?

the TM books are NOT terribly advanced, although they are good at showing alternate ideas. however, your OP said:

"simple trading systems with well defined entry and exit points in them"

they fit that to a T.

if you'd like more complex stuff, check out conway and behle's book.

some of these are so new, that you will be able to get some residual benefit from them being made public knowledge,

keep your trading size below the radar of the algorythmic houses and these just might provide more than one successful strategies....

good trading to you...

yup, am familiar with it.

still think the book is a good book - helped me think up a trade pattern i use in my trading.

i also reco joe ross stuff to people, even though i know about the supposed ross/(ken roberts? others?) problems which are out there.

to the OP: hope the connors book works out well; how markets really work may still be available for free download on the tradingmarkets site (you'd have to go to the direct link to check). much of what connors / tm do now is come up with a volatility-based system, backtest it 15 years, sell it as a limited-edition run for X people and charge thousands of dollars for it.

from their point of view, it's much more profitable than what used to happen; he'd publish it along with a bunch of others (in either ATS, or street smarts, or professional traders journal, etc.) for $100-200.

from my pov, not so much.

i ordered: The Best of the Professional Traders Journal: Day Trading (Best of the Professional Traders Journal Series) by Laurence A. Connors
