The second one i have read and is good but he came out with this one below about a year or two after and it is better than the first, so if you buy one, go with his most recent.

have you tried any university libraries? I ran into some books about hedge fund operations and it reminded me of this thread.
I think there was a book actually titled, "How to Start a Hedge Fund".

The second one is excellent and it goes through some pretty detailed stuff. The compliance is changing, but if you read that, then go dive into some SEC regs, then you should be up to date.
