Bombshell report on Trump taxes sends GOP nominee reeling

I call him dumb. His uncontrolled temper and his unwillingness to tone down his rhetoric and getting hooked on each little story out there is outright dumb. I also call him a pretty crooked businessman, it is far from being clear whether he is even successful. He could be worth nothing and actually owe more in debt than the assets he possesses.

Then why hasn't trump been arrested by the IRS for filing false returns, dummy?

heavy on baseless accusations with no proof.

... because he stubbornly refuses to expose his financial condition and tax records, something Americans should have a right to know about their potential future president. And because he lost a fortune in 1995, what is there to say not more such bombshells are waiting to be exposed? He keeps on making up stories how he is not allowed to release his tax records because he is being audited.

There are just so many red flags it's hard not to make some educated guesses.

Really! The best assumption to make when someone looks RICH is to assume they're not rich? You have to give anyone who "looks" rich the benefit of the doubt, because probability says MOST people who look rich are really just that...rich! It's the smaller percentile that is a facade. Why would Trump fit this percentile, because he had some bankruptcies in the past? That has nothing to do with the present.

Because he possibly filed the correct returns which he however hides from the public. The questions just keep on piling up...

You Liberals only have baseless accusations against Trump.

Pure rumor mongering. You have ZERO proof or any evidence. If you did, we would have saw it weeks/months ago.

This is pure character assassination. But that's what you Liberals do. You vilify people based on your flimsy emotional convictions. And then libel others of the same thing.

You're a rumor mill then smear the enemy for lying.

Hillary is on record as a habitual liar, thief, traitor, and treasonous fuckbag. And that's who YOU support.

I've been carrying losses forward for about 15 years now. In fact, Turbo Tax does it for me automatically.
Unless he declared a bigger loss than he had, or smaller gains, then I don't see what the issue is. Offsetting
gains with losses is normal.

I am not a liberal, I am in fact quite conservative. Let's face it, Trump's only play is his self-proclaimed business acumen, agreed? He believes he can turn around the economy and put more money into peoples' pockets than the other candidate. His argument is that he knows how to do it because he is a successful business man. Hilary Clinton is widely believed to possess expert knowledge in foreign relations (whether you disagree or not is not relevant in this context). She backs up her knowledge with facts. So should Trump. He has not proven anything whatsoever that he is indeed a savvy and smart business man. Just because someone walks around with a Rolex or drives a super sports car or lives in a golden tower means very little in the context of competing for the job as American president. The hurdle is set a little higher than impressing some buddies with blink. He is not required by law to produce his tax records but as you can see his refusal causes damage to him. People start to become more suspicious by the day. Die hard Trump fans will stick with him (to which I count you I guess?) and that is ok, no criticism here whatsoever. But most others need more convincing and Trump just does not deliver in this area.

Let's abstain from name calling, personal insults, and attacks. Let's just look at the facts. You may believe that Trump can win anyway even without proving his business acumen and maybe you are right. All I am saying is that he does himself a disservice to reject to put on the table a verifiable track record to back up his self proclaimed business and negotiating skills. The "financial disclosure statements" he provided mean very little to nothing to most people.

obviously that is not true, the American tax code does not allow ordinary people NOR most businesses to carry business losses forward and apply those to a reduction of income tax. A trader cannot use prior year losses to reduce his income tax bill in future years, he can under certain circumstances, however, reduce his future taxes on gains made from the same trading he experienced losses in earlier. There is a loophole in that property developers (and there are certain hurdles that need to be met to qualify as one) can use losses from properties to offset future income taxes which makes zero sense. Is it illegal what Trump did? No, it is not. But it is unethical and immoral. Is lying to another person illegal (unless under oath)? No it is not, but it is unethical and immoral, especially for a presidential candidate. Has Hilary lied? yes probably she has, but we are talking about Trump's tax records and ditching federal income taxes.

You can carry $ 3000 capital losses forward every year.
