Quote from AAAintheBeltway:

It's ironic that all the lefties and peace activists that control the Democrat party were all in favor of this shameful war, conceived by CNN and run by Jamie Rubin. The troops that Clinton promised would be "home by Christmas" are still there, helping al qaeda establish a secure foothold. And don't forget the genius who planned the campaign was Wesley Clark, Clinton's favorite general and ass kisser.

Excellent post AAA, Its pretty ironic that the Clinton apologists seem to omit the fact that the US DID NOT have UN approval, the war didn't pass the "global test" as John Kerry would have said, but still probably happily supported and justified at the time. Oh and all those MASS GRAVES they found . . . Genocide for sure . . .

Quote from acronym:

Whatever the real reasons the bombing took place, it was always my impression it was to curtail Milosevics nationist ambitions. Actually, that was one of the reasons stated-and heres why;

So you're saying that the bombing was to stop Serbs from getting control of Kosovo?

But those maps you posted show that Kosovo was always a part of Serbia.

What the bombing was really about was that Serbs shouldn't be able to exercise authority on their own sovereign territory, even when there is a fully armed rebel army operating on Serb soil.

That's Clintonism for you.

Quote from Rearden Metal:

With today's events, I'm just curious if people realize yet that NATO picked the dead wrong side in bombing Serbia in order to steal land from the Serbs, in order to give it to Al-Qaida.

As usual, I knew full well at the time that Clinton was making a colossal mistake. Also as usual, I couldn't find a single person who agreed with me at the time. .

You obviously didn't talk to any Orthodox, then.

As for Clinton, the Serbs were villains par excellence - White, Christian and at war with the Muslim "Other". You couldn't ask for a better setup for Clinton to play out his liberal fantasies.

People should do a little research on the subject. It's very interesting to see what a disaster it was and is. The Iranian connection, the KLA being nothing more than a terrorist, gun running, drug dealing, human trafficing bunch of criminals.

The muslim population tried the same thing in Bulgaria shortly after Kosovo was handed over to the KLA. The Bulgarians smartly just said we will destroy you and that idea quickly faded away.
