Has anyone noticed that since this new format has been implemented that the use of
bold, is difficult to work with?

The blinking cursor disappears and bold wants to stay "on".
Have to work on the next letter/line over and over before it reverts to the desired effect.

Also, when one copies/pastes a thread title, then you try to add a comment, the font is the same as the thread title which you pasted and the size wants to remain large and it seems difficult to change the font to a "regular" size.

This stuff has been driving me nuts since the latest upgrade.

Never had these problems with any old versions; since 1999...hmmm.
 
After u paste the thread title to the far right there is a wrench, click it, then post comments and or paste, your problem will be solved as it properly sizes everything.
 
BSAM, I'm still a little confused as to what the problem is, so I might need Banjo to interpret this one for me.

I'm assuming since nobody else has ever complained about this yet, the problem may be specific to your setup.
What's your Operating System, Browser, and browser version?
 
  • Switch to Use BB Code Editor, link is upper right of the reply box.
  • Edit out all the BB code.
  • Once that is done switch back to Use Rich Text Editor, link is lower left of the reply box.

Or edit all your posts first in Notepad (or equivalent editor) and copy and paste into ET reply box for final editing and formatting.

Hmmm...I'd just ask/see if we can get anymore posters who are having similar problems.
Not to sound like a jerk, but I been using bold since...oh, the last century.
Never had a problem on this computer or any other computer.
I can make it work; just have to "work" with it a few times.
We'll see...
 
Yep, that must be it. I just checked the server and the allocation of BOLD has been completely used up. Now we know who to blame.

It could be an issue with the WYSIWYG editor, either a glitch or a UX issue with respect to the way you use it.

What OS and browser (including version number) are you using?

Do you toggle bold on before typing a word or do you apply bold to a word after typing it by selecting it?

Do you use the toolbar button or Ctrl+B?

And do you switch between BB and rich modes?

Any problems with italic?
