Talk about taking something out of context...49 years ago, Milton Friedman told America that businesses bear no social responsibility to the public or society because its only concern is to increase profits for itself and for its shareholders.
Boeing is what happens when you allow an engineering operation to be taken over by MBAs and bean counters, with the sole goal of "maximizing shareholder value."
Nothing abnormal about this news.
All companies have to cut cost sooner or later to stay competitive.
They have to
eliminate unprofitable business,
eliminate redundant workers,
improve productivity,
improve yield,
hire contract foreign workers etc etc.
common sense will tell you you'd pay workers as low as possible,
not as high as possible..
Welcome to my life for the last 20 years.
Fixing things from teams in India who always say Yes to land a contract while they have no clue what they are talking about.
Here's a link for you:
https://www.thehindubusinessline.co...are-development-jobs-study/article9652211.ece
95 per cent of engineers in India are not fit to take up software development jobs.
The study further noted that while more than 60 per cent candidates cannot even write code that compiles, only 1.4 per cent can write functionally correct and efficient code.
That is cheap India for you. Enjoy your flight.
...My experience with QA in aerospace hasn't been positive. Most of them don't know enough about what they are supposed to deem safe. Unfortunate, but that's the state of affairs.
...
Like just a couple of days ago, the FAA or EAA (whatever they're called) found another bug in the MAX software that would not allow the autopilot to disengage in case of some emergency?
WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE!?!
You MUST release control of the plane to the pilot if the pilot thinks the plane is in danger. WHAT MORON THOUGHT OTHERWISE IS A GOOD IDEA?
