Boeing to pay $2.5 billion to settle criminal charge over max jet deceit

Just $2.5 billion??!!! This is how much 300+ lives are worth??!! They have established deliberate action of concealing material information in the intention of deceiving federal regulators. This is criminal negligence causing death at the least if not manslaughter! These are federal crimes that punishable by jail sentence and yet nobody goes to jail? And just pays their way through and that's it? $2.5 billion is pocket change for a company like Boeing who makes $100 billion a year. Corporate America at its finest!!

Burns of the department’s Criminal Division.


One good thing about the China, -

Jail sentences for all who are responsible in state penitentiaries NOT those posh private jails that are basically like hotels (they killed 300+ people and normally for that kind of crime it's death sentence so they should be grateful that they are just going to jail) + direct compensation in all forms (not just financial) to victims' families + complete oversight by the regulatory body of Boeing and all airplane manufacturers' operations, no more reliance on self-regulation via self-reporting by Boeing or by others. This would be the least that should be implemented to just start to address the many issues that led to this serious infraction on the safety of air travel and be an admonishment to all others who choose to put profit before safety.

This $2.5 billion fine is a joke. And it sends out a wrong message that basically says "you can do whatever you want and if your products/services kill somebody, you just need to pay the government off and that's it."
