By the way, I think police unions, are good idea-too many spineless mayors
Tough business, if BA got 97.777% right, wow that's not good enough .
Still a safe way to travel, they have so many back up plans + inspections.

A very sad situation.

CEO said "we own the problem, we are accountable".

As of today, they all still own the problem, still are accountable, i.e., they continue to collect their pay, their bonuses, no one loses his/her job, life goes on...

Adding more FAA inspectors, more quality controls won't solve the problem that perhaps, from top to bottom, no one takes their job seriously.

More oversight means everyone continues to count on others to catch their mistakes and seriously it is a complex system you can't catch them all.
