Then don't start the fight if that is your mindset. Most of the senate surrender monkeys felt that way, then they did everything in their power to make sure that was the way it played out.
If faced by a unified republican party that was prepared to let obama default if he chose, thereby sinking his second term, the democrats would have budged. How could they not? But republicnas were begging almost from the getgo.
