I thought that maybe someone in Boca knew of any hedge funds who were hiring, or looking to start up. I work at a major wirehouse, but would be interested in any local opportunities.

only people with advanced quant skills get hired these days, and thats also becoming true for the "back office" positions.

You should have seen the apt. complex I lived in there. However I made it to class is beyond me. That place was like a Club Med resort.
