blue chips[aka DOW or DIA]are helpful in the sense data goes back to1920s-1930s.....
DIA, even x2 or x 3 ETFs tend to underperform SPY+ related benchmark about 97% of the time.
But one daytrader did real well[public trades];
with DOW derivative, so to each his, or her own.:D:D
I like blue [or greenLOL]+ red charts more than blue chips.
Thanks my friend it was really helpful. I was wondering to trade on blue chips and I ask youguys here and find your answers reasonable.

mistake. It was 4 decades ago.

I started investing/trading when computers were still not available for home use.
In those days, we used a calculator and graph paper to plot the chart.

The only thing I'd invest in is real estate.
But I would invest towards the end of the recession.
fooouuur decades ago?!
oh my lord,
You're starting to show a few gray hairs in the trading game.

A REAL shocker on blue chips, a low PE, low % gainer follows.
EVEN though he was ''talking is book'' , WO'N, IBD founder said with a rebuke , WSJ picking 30[blue chips]'' stocks= not to good[paraphrase].Sorry he passed this year:caution::caution:
UDOW which should have helped DIA x3;
LOL \DIA cash actually has done better price + dividends YTD ....................................
On a more positive note SPY+ QQQ + related almost ALWAYS do better :D:D
