Just curious, who out there with a Bloomberg terminal was able to catch today's spike on Iraq news? Is it worth the price of the machine?
 
the problem with trading off a news ticker is that there are about 20,000 stories a day, which ones do you trade off?
 
You want to sort your news tickers for key words like "earnings revision", "fraud" upside/downside suprise, merger, upgrade, downgrade, resignation, lower guidence, higher guidance, margin pressure etc. etc.

If you just watch the feed alone the sheer volume of B.S stories will bury you that is why you filter it down to catch the ones that have the largest impact.
