Bloomberg is a commie

Quote from Maverick74:

...Hitler thought the Jews were stupid...
Whatever else that madman may have thought, I doubt if he ever actually believed Jews were stupid. You really are into free-style history, aren't you?

Quote from Maverick74:

...Come on man, choose liberty over government control, you'll be a lot happier.
Yes, and in the face of an obvious and mounting health crisis, the focus should be on flag-waving, applauding the Invisible Hand, and prayer. In fact, if memory serves, Governor Perry implored the people of Texas to pray for rain not so long ago. Since that time, I believe Texas has had rain. Coincidence? You be the judge.

That's a strawman and you know that. Come on Gabby, step up your game.

The gov will set those rules so that we are also subject to them. What are you willing to give up because of the stupidity of others?

I count my calories and I train religiously. I'm in superb shape for my 53 years of age. I do, however, enjoy breaking my diet on occasion. Explain to me why I should be denied a soda because someone else was too stupid to stop drinking them before they made that individual fat.

What do you propose we do about stupid people behind the wheel? Shall we outlaw cars? How about dealing with the people that have problems using their freedoms responsibly rather than punishing us all?

who is denying you a soda? the government is simply trying to alter behavior a tiny bit. nothing stopping you from buying one sode and then buying another one.
"What do you propose we do about stupid people behind the wheel? Shall we outlaw cars?"
come on, you are just being silly now. we already deal with stupid people behind the wheel. we take their right to drive away.

I'll be honest with you FT. I hate sugared soda. I like an occasional burger and fries, though. My comments are rhetorical. Have you ever heard the story about the camel and the tent?

As far as people behind the wheel: I am constantly driving with white knuckles because I see people driving who think they have to look at their passengers while they talk to them, or are looking down at their texting device, or lost in a cell phone conversation. Last time I checked, they still have their right to drive.

That's being outlawed all over Canada, btw.

Looking at passengers? LOL.

Can you still stare at a hot chic or is that being outlawed in Canada too? :)

No, I cut that item out of the quote. But, that shoulda been outlawed YEARS ago. : )

There are highway signs around here saying, "Distracted Driving Law In Effect". I want to go out and put a sign above one of those, saying, "Do Not Read The Sign Below This One!"

Seriously, the other day I had a car in front of me weaving all over the place. Got up a little closer and the driver was looking straight at the passenger, yacking away with hand motions and all. I see it all the time. Not back and forth to the road, but just looking at the passenger.

I can carry on a conversation with my wife while driving without looking at her once. Of course, she may not be paying attention and I'll never know it, so usually I just drive:)

Looking at a hot chic would probably be classified as "rubbernecking", and that's when my wife would be paying attention to me!
