The problem is that the editors in their zeal to get out a Trump gotcha moment precludes them from fully vetting their sources.
For them it would be much worse that the story be true and they weren't the first to print with it.
. Dowd has to be the world's worst lawyer! If he really authored that tweet, as he claims and no one believes, he should be disbarred for incompetence, and if he didn't write it, he should be disbarred for lying. Too bad all the good lawyers in D.C. turned Trump Down!
Dowd did put himself in a position where he now becomes a witness who is subject to examination in the case, at least in regard to that episode. Nothing there is protected by attorney/client privilege because dowd made public statements about his own actions.
Fortunately for Trump despite his attorney's blunders, Mueller's team is gaining in the race to the bottom.
Not the smartest move in town.
As far as all the good lawyers turning trump down, Trump has money. And in a witch hunt, it is all about how much justice you can afford. You will be surprised how much he can afford.
Not so new tactic of the left. Project their own behavior towards the opposition and then blame them for doing exactly what they've been doing for decades. You implication that left leaning news organizations are practicing real journalism is laughable.
Sorry Captain, that is exactly what the right does. If you are guilty of something accuse someone else of the same thing and overload people's hypocrisy circuits.
Seems accusing the left of doing the right's favorite trick is more of the same.

Amen! Very high standard for these two press organizations, covering BOTH sides fairly and even handedly. They carefully separate opinion from news! I love Maureen Dowd's column. In Canada I like the Toronto Star. Dowd invited her brother, Kevin to do a Thanksgiving guest opinion on Trump (he's a misguided Trump supporter) . I attached a link below to Kevin's guest column.

Not a problem coming up with bodies in a witch hunt. Hillary and company are a target rich environment. Unleash a couple witchhunters on to her and you can pick up a dozen defendants a week for weeks to come. Be like going over to Costco and just taking the bulk pack of toilet paper down off the shelf week after week. Mueller has not done that much. He got mannafort and Flynn who were known to have violated laws before Mueller even came along. He got their heads on a platter just by showing up for work.
As I have said many times before, I would not go down the road of trying to fire Mueller and all the backlash that would entail. I would just pack in two or three witch hunters around Camp Clinton and Camp Comey and flood the information zone with day after day of investigations of their crimes and corruptions so that the public can get a "more complete view."
How they coming along with that story exposing an alleged affair between John McCain and a female consultant? You know, the one they broke right as he announced he was running for president. Picture of the woman, the whole thing? Interesting timing there.
I heard they retracted that later, must have appeared in the home depot flyer insert and I missed it.
You can argue that they are the best in the world. That's fine as long as your love for them saves them from the auction block. Donations accepted.
