I for one couldn't care less about the "look" of a news website as long as it is not distracting, which the previous Halloween format was.

if you don't like the fact that the internet is a dynamic, competitive place, and the fact that Bloomberg probably did this after a lot of testing and competitive analysis, then maybe you need to go back and sign up for 14.4K dialup service via America Online

4 1 thing its too thin, too much whitespace on the sides.

most of us have widescreen monitors.

The old layout was for men, this new one is for girls and limp-wristed hipsters. Black is the colour of power, white is the colour of nuns and pasty-faced girly men.
