Usually, when I make the point that some candidate will get enough votes to help dilute the votes enough to keep Joe from getting the nomination on the first pass, that that does not mean that I think that a candidate doing that has any chance of winning. Then I go on to say that "the idiots here will not be able to understand that and will nevertheless proceed to explaining why that candidate will not win even though that is not even remotely the point."

The usual suspects will feel the kneejerk need to point out that he has no chance of winning, which is not even remotely the point.

The point is that that's 9 percentage points that are out there further dividing the the party at a time when it desperately needs to be consolidating. He is ahead of BootyBoy and Klobo who were the flavor of the month just a month ago.

Similarly, Tom Steyer is not going to win anything but last week he was in third place in some of state polls which just shows how everyone is just flailing around trying to find something different. They will come together at some point, but it will be a very weak bond.
