No one saying it didn't work as in it had no effect, it did. It was just too small to counter the amount of lost demand.

Their exact same answer when a government program isn't working. We just aren't spending enough on it yet.

Or, government was too inefficient to properly get the dollars where they needed to go, which was more likely the cause. Would have been better off cutting everyone a check.

It was ideology that directed the stimulus too much towards tax cuts. You might be right on the second statement, though I'd rather see the spending on projects that also employ people.

It started in '07. If Obama would ever quit the teleprompter thingy we could watch him squirm as he takes the blame but he's insulated from blame entirely. The MSM can create reality for him so he's got little to worry about. Many of the voters that are getting screwed over by Obamacare will actually fall for the same bullshit next election and vote for Democrats.

They will believe that the rich are going to pay for stuff. The simple reality is it's hard to collect taxes from anybody but a paycheck worker. His taxes can be confiscated before he sees the check. Small business owners can get a local politician to write a complete break from income tax if they like, the wealthy can get laws changed continually, get immunities from income tax like the small business owner, criminals don't pay taxes because they deal in cash and barter...

I'm only supportive of one type of tax; consumption tax.. and that only if the law that puts it in place prohibits any exemptions to it. Businesses large and small would have to pay it, criminals would have to pay it... people could find ways around it with double sets of books but it would be more difficult than just filling out a tax form and declaring an immunity clause. People don't question why the tax code is tens of thousands of pages.. it's because legislators are continually adding in tax breaks for their supporters.

I think that after the collapse we need to focus on the constitution, add amendments for health freedoms and outlaw any tax but a flat consumption based one.
