Imagine paying $1 million dollars for a single line of computer code.

Makes the Holland tulip people seem rational.
And like a true tulip it will bloossom one day, a flower made out of tears.

Cryptos will crash or stagnate. The same way people view the late 90's dot com crash a decade or two after.

Governments are, presently, creating their own official digital currencies, so those cryptos will not be as seemingly mainstream and exciting and relevant anymore.

sure...it's not that this already happened 3 times. dot com never took forever to come back to break even. BTC is already a multiple of its first major crash price after the Mt.Gox fiasco.

Government currencies are not cryptocurrencies, they are money based on DLT. Apples and oranges

No they wont. They will be even more mainstream since everyone is already using them

Lotus 1-2-3 existed before Excel. Lotus 1-2-3 disappeared.
Netscape existed before the first browser of Microsoft. Netscape disappeared.
Betamax existed 3 years before VHS appeared. Betamax disappeared.

There are a lot of examples were the original "inventor" lost the war against competitors that appeared later.

A lot of people are speculating with BTC, but the real users are maybe 10% of all these people. If governments come with their own official digital currencies they can easily wipe out BTC. Just making their digital currencies more stable, not a rollercoaster, and it will be quickly clear what people prefer.
