That's not to say BTC cannot go up to $100K by the EOY, but I think we will see $40K before that happens. So I guess we'll just have to wait and find out.

This is honestly the fear that prevented me from getting into bitcoin much sooner. I just assumed that the government would eventually shut it down. I was buying silver is 2012 to prepare for the end of the world... LOL.... I knew about bitcoin than even before John. But I kept believing that it would be shut down.

What is happening right now is I think about as bad as it will get the way they are going after all the developers. The ETF launch made bitcoin have status, and all they can go after now is self custody and using it privately. Even if they have success here, all this will do is push key developers out of the US. Will the US really turn its back on something that will likely run the world one day?

Other nations don't have the same privilege, hence they cannot turn their back against the US.

I think China is going to provide other players what they need. Even oil can be sourced from sources outside of US control. Russia, no matter how many sanctions they had, still managed to sell its oil. So I don't think other nations need to fear not having a good relationship with the US. What the US provides, dollars, isn't the as important anymore in my opinion. If you have lots of US debt, fine, but maybe countries will just default. What is the US gonna do, invade? Imagine how if you wanted to be a reporter 20 years ago, if you couldn't get on a network, you were out of the loop and out of luck. Today, without a network to hire you, you will likely do even better as an independent.

China has managed to capture Africa, and so we clearly see a future where its possible to do business without the US dollar or US consent. This will continue to grow.

After all, it is seen as a threat to its sovereignty.

At some point, bitcoin will have to be embraced vs. fought. Already now all over my Twitter feed is the idea that Biden will lose the election over Bitcoin. Adoption is unstoppable at this point, and the US can either embrace and participate in the new monetary system or be left behind.
