Bitcoin Price Thread

Yeah, I have been searching for it in the news the last few minutes and they are not saying how much and what crypto.

Kinda suspicious to leave out such a major detail. This group so far has been asking for 200K to 2 MM, and most company paying up, so if this is their price range, big oil would have been better off just paying it. Of course that is not a good policy in the long run, but for short term quick solution that is practical.

Maybe they don't want to tell us just how cheap they are??? I mean paying a million for big oil is like 5 seconds of profits or something...
What's our DOJ say about BTC? I don't follow the news, but it would be funny if it was a false-flag type operation to shut the whole thing down in the interest of "national security". Word is "The Dark Side" didn't do this, they leased out the information (for access into the system) to the culprits.

I thought of it. It looks like Dark Side either got too big for their breeches or it wasn't them. When people have to pay 10-20 cents more for a months for gas, they will notice the dark side of crypto.

Yes, the government could use this as an excuse (not that they really need excuses) to ban or control more cryptos.

After all the best usecase for cryptos is still ransomware.

Hey Johnny,

So far everyone has been mum about the payment details of this ransomware attack on the Colonial Pipeline. I just wonder if it comes out that Bitcoin was the currency of choice by the 'Dark Side', if that will inspire more regulation etc.?

Hey Vanz! Yes, it is possible. This is a negative attention on bitcoin for sure

I only saw it in the news but did not do any more reading on it. Hacking and getting paid in bitcoin or other cryptos is a normal occurrence as it's profitable for the hackers

Prior to crypto all ransom was paid in cash yet nobody banned cash.
Cartels moving cash in trucks yet nobody banned cash or trucks.
Major banks laundered drug monies yet nobody banned banking.

Nothing like a new enemy.
What was it gvz used to say all the time?

"People fear that which they don't understand".

Why Bitcoin though?

It has no real purpose, doesn't work well(slow transactions, high fees) plus all the electricity usage. There is no real reason other than philosophical.

IMO other coins will flip Bitcoin on the long run. Like Ethereum and Cardano for sure, maybe some others too. They do all bitcoin does and much more... There are so many people working on top of these projects. How many work on Bitcoin? 10? 20?

I am definitelly not buying any ethereum or ada at those prices though(for a long term hodl).

In bull runs you often get a sharp dump(shakeout), market rallies away far, but it usually comes all the way back to the point prior to the dump and that's the best time to buy. That would mean a 95% correction for alts. Nothing unheard of in the cryptos.
Will it actually happen? i don't know
