Bitcoin Price Thread

...
One of the famous hodlers Hoi disappeared since december.:D He lost in a few weeks half of his highest neth worth in bitcoins.
....

He cashed out a significant portion of his holdings as he has said he's quite old. He announced the liquidation and got criticized for it.

...
I don't believe in crypto's so I keep my hands off. No buy and no sell. Just nothing. And if later it would be clear that I was wrong it will be no problem as nobody can be right every time. I am right in a lot of other trades and they compensate largely for the missed bitcoin trade. I made more money then the average bitcoin holder over the last years.

Yea, we know :D YOU have told us many time$$$ and you keep reminding us, just in case we forget. We're just so fortunate you find time to keep posting here in cryptos' forum even if you have no plans to ever touch it

The same for cultists in the other direction. But let me explain human behaviour. Some people actually like when markets make sense, and a piece of shit crypto that can't even be used for payments anymore at 20K somehow just doesn't make sense. Just like Tesla close to $400 didn't make sense.

So yes, some of us like when normality returns and the stupid gets their asses handled to them.

But if you cashed out close to the top, the more power to you! Don't hold it all the way down, you are supposed to be a freaking trader, if you are on this board after all.

Pekelo, my friend, you've been criticizing bitcoin since it was priced in the hundreds. I think if I listened to the naysayers I would have missed out, so I'll choose not to take any advice from anyone.

I cannot get hurt since I've already cashed out more than my original investment :sneaky:

Yea that news about facebook banning all cryptocurrency ads will definitely put pressure on bitcoin...

The ICO's use the ethereum block chain and ethereum is holding up well showing relative strength to bitcoin. It may be rumours, now denied, India are banning it.

He cashed out a significant portion of his holdings as he has said he's quite old. He announced the liquidation and got criticized for it.

He told that dec 20, and dec 21 he posts that $17000 is an excellent entry point.
So buy and sell at the same time. He is always right, no matter what happens.
All people I hear speak about bitcoin made a lot of money they say. Funny in a market that crashed now over 50% from the top. Typical ET, only winners.

I have plenty of time as I do average 2 trades a day and 90% of the day I just sit and wait.
I use that time to warn people not to do stupid things. Those who bought after my warning lost about 50% of their "investment" in the bitcoin casino.

So losing half of your paper gains is OK with you? And you are right in a way, objective criticism doesn't work with ponzis. I will see you at the tether meltdown...

By the way, I have just explained why some of us are smiling when reality wins over delusion. You asked for an explanation, now you got it.

I hate to answer for hoi, but just want to let you know he was buying years ago if you look way, way older posts from him when Pekelo and others were telling him how wrong he was for buying then less than $500 per bitcoin.

I don't like losing paper profits, but I hold less than 10% bitcoin in my crypto portfolio. I've said it many times so it's not something I've just decided to announce today. Still, when measured in $, my crypto portfolio is down about 30% from the high.

Let me ask you this, when should I have listened to your "sky is falling" warnings about bitcoin? Because my posts can be traced to May of last year and you know you were all ecstatic when bitcoin was cut in half from the high of $5000 some time after my early posts...

So you see, I'll choose not to listen to you, but no offense is intended.

I have some ICO's that have not "realized" the value (not trading on exchanges), so I'm hoping those would ease some the pain of this downtrend when they come out :D

Good for you. And I explained that 2017 was for holding and 2018 was for trading it. Once the vertical runup is over, there is really no reason not to trade it vs. holding it blindly.

Since you asked when you should have listened to me, it was on Dec 18th:

I think the safe bet here is to cash out and put a buy order in at 12K. I expect a 40-50% sell off in the next 10 weeks.

Where are all the bitcoin bulls buying it at these levels....if you loved it at $20000 you definitely have to be loving it at $9300!!!! 1/2 off!!!

And all those buyers who jumped in at the end of November are all at a loss now!!!!

It is hypocritical to post/advice that people should hold or even buy at 17K while you are selling yourself. It is to me pump and dump.
I started to warn people after the bitcoin skyrocketed. For me it was clear that later the correction would hurt a lot of people. That's what is happening now.
That was/is my only concern, and the only reason why I posted here.
